Mink – process your own text corpora and search them in Korp
- Mink is now available in the Language Bank of Finland! You can log in to Mink with your home university user account (via HAKA/eduGAIN federations), upload your own texts, annotate them with automatic tools if required, and query the resulting private corpus via Korp within the Mink platform. Korp update status
- The major upgrade of the Korp concordancing service has been waiting for Mink to be published first, but the new Korp version is expected to appear in the autumn of this year. Please follow the Language Bank website for further information on the update schedule.
CSC services: From Puhti to Roihu
- During the summer, the Puhti supercomputer at CSC will be replaced by Roihu. Please prepare for the migration of your data to the new computing environment if required (see the instructions by CSC).
- Most of the Language Bank tools and the copies of downloadable resources will be automatically migrated to Roihu. Read more
Small update to CLARIN end-user licenses
- A small clarification was made to the PLAN condition of all CLARIN licenses in the RES category. Read more

- 6.2.2026 Supporting the Research Community in the Age of AI. The aim of the workshop was to gather ideas and discuss how our research infrastructure can better support the research community.
- 25.3.2026 FIN-CLARIAH Roadshow From Data to Intelligence, Aalto University. Read a blog post about the event
- 22.4.2026 Digital Language Sovereignty – Euskadi–Finland AI & Language Workshop, Helsinki. Our hybrid event, organized together with Euskorpora of the Basque Country (Euskadi), gathered together around 70 researchers and experts to discuss current developments and future opportunities in artificial intelligence and language technologies.

News from the FIN-CLARIAH research infrastructure
- The new project period begun on 1st January 2026. Read the latest deliverables.
- The FIN-CLARIAH infrastructure is presented at different locations through a series of ”FIN-CLARIAH Roadshow” events where you can learn more about current research, methods, tools and services in the humanities and social sciences. More information about the roadshow events will be updated on the Language Bank website.
Courses and training materials
The following courses are open and free of charge to university degree students from all universities, given that the maximum group size is not exceeded. (If you are not a degree student or staff member in any university, you can participate via Open University for a fee.)
- The online course Corpus Linguistics and Statistical Methods (5 ECTS) will be offered 31.8–18.10.2026 and again 18.1.–5.3.2027.
- The online course Introduction to Speech Analysis is available during 26.10.–13.12.2026.
- The online course Data Clinic (26.10.2026–7.5.2027) is intended for PhD students and graduate students who need to process and manage a dataset containing running text or speech for their thesis. This year, you will be able to join and complete the course flexibly at your own schedule. Follow the course page for further details!
