FinnWordNet
-----------

FinnWordNet is a wordnet for Finnish. It was created by having
professional translators translate the word senses of the Princeton
WordNet (PWN) 3.0 into Finnish and by combining the translations with
the PWN structure. FinnWordNet is a part of the FIN-CLARIN
infrastructure project:

The FinnWordNet project was active in 2010–2012 and was led by
Research Director, Dr Krister Lindén at the then Department of Modern
Languages (Language Technology) of the University of Helsinki.

Packages and directories
------------------------

Please note that this package contains the unchanged data of four
packages previously distributed separately, and the source code of the
WordNet 3.0 Grind program modified for FinnWordNet. Only the README
files have been edited.

This package contains the following directories:

    dict - FinnWordNet data files in the Princeton WordNet database
        format

    lex - FinnWordNet in the Princeton WordNet lexicographer file
        format

    lists - Various lists (synsets, translations, relations) generated
        from FinnWordNet data in a tab-separated-values format

    rels - FinnWordNet data as relations in a tab-separated-values
        format

    WNgrind-3.0-FiWN-20120213 - WordNet 3.0 Grind program modified
        to support FinnWordNet data

General notes about FinnWordNet data

The character encoding in all FinnWordNet data is UTF-8.

Newlines are Unix-style (single line feed, ASCII 0x0A).

WordNet, it is a derivative of PWN subject to the PWN licence:
